Ajax MotionProtect Outdoor Jeweller is a wireless motion detector for outdoor use. Two infrared sensors cover a 90-degree field of view and detect movement at 3–15 m; the detection range is adjusted with a slider on the enclosure itself.

Outdoors the risk of false alarms is higher than indoors, so the detector uses two algorithms: LISA analyses the signals of both sensors together and SmartDetect tells human movement from everything else. Branches, cats or a passing car therefore do not raise an alarm. Temperature compensation keeps detection reliable from −25 °C to +60 °C.

The anti-masking system reports any attempt to cover or tape over the detector's view, and tamper protection reports opening of the enclosure or removal from the wall. The two pre-installed CR123A batteries last for years, and the Jeweller radio link is encrypted and frequency-hopping.
