Esser

AS Walde started selling Esser fire equipment long before it was acquired by the Honeywell company.

Like many other Estonian technology companies, Walde's main partners after the restoration of independence of Estonia were the English. In 1998, we started cooperation with GENT, a manufacturer of ATS equipment located in Leicester. We reached the first sales of systems when the company announced that Caradon Plc (which also included GENT), established five years earlier, had decided to serve Eastern European countries through an Austrian company, whose main sales item was Caradon Esser products. Shortly thereafter, the group was renamed Novar. That's when our acquaintance with Esser fire safety systems began. The first installations of Honeywell branded equipment in Estonia were carried out in 1999 by the system integration company Eltron AS.

Although it was initially difficult to sell Esser in the Estonian market due to its relatively high price, a turning point occurred in 2001-2002 when rumors spread about the high reliability of the equipment. For larger buildings, Honeywell products were increasingly requested. Significant contributors to sales growth were major clients such as the Estonian Defense Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Port of Tallinn, and Riigi Kinnisvara AS (State Real Estate).

In 2005, Honeywell Group acquired Novar Plc, after which the names Esser by Honeywell and Ackermann by Honeywell (nurse call systems) emerged.

In 2008, Honeywell Group acquired AV Digital, thereby adding evacuation sound systems VARIODYNE to its portfolio.

In 2013, the brand celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Today, Esser has been installed in the following major projects in Estonia:

• Estonian Energy Auvere Power Plant;
• Kiisa Emergency Power Plant;
• Estonian Defense Forces - Tapa Garrison;
• Solaris Center;
• VGP Logistics Park.

This list could be extended with a whole range of smaller projects. In addition, ATS panels and equipment are used in fire safety automation in creating information boards, as the entire system complies with EN54 standard (does not use RS485 connection).
