Ajax Curtain Outdoor

Ajax Curtain Outdoor Jeweller is a wireless outdoor detector whose zone is narrow and tall like a curtain: the horizontal field of view is only 8° and the vertical up to 85°. It guards a window, a door or a façade right in front of it without reacting to passers-by on the street or cars moving in the yard.

The detector uses three sensors: two infrared sensors and a K-band microwave sensor. An alarm is raised only when both technologies detect movement, which rules out false alarms caused by heat, sunshine or rain. The detection range is 8–12 m and can be adjusted with a slider on the enclosure.

The detector can be mounted so that pets stay outside the zone (animals moving up to a metre above the ground). Tamper protection reports opening of the enclosure or removal from the wall, communication with the hub is encrypted and uses frequency hopping, and firmware updates travel over the Wings protocol.
