Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Sounder/VAD) Jeweller is a wireless fire alarm device that signals with sound and light at the same time. The volume reaches 100 decibels at one metre, and the light signal comes from an LED frame around the device that flashes at 0.5 Hz.

There are 32 sound patterns to choose from, so the sounder can be told apart from other signals in the building. The sound of all sounders connected to the same control and indicating equipment (CIE) is synchronised automatically, so the alarm plays as one pattern throughout the building.

The device belongs to the EN 54 compliant Ajax Fire range. A separate test mode checks that the alarm is clearly audible and visible. The SmartBracket mounting panel with a lock holds the device in place and the tamper button reports removal. The four pre-installed CR123A batteries last up to 5 years and can be replaced without tools.
