The FSL100-UVIR detects fast-developing flaming fires using two methods – ultraviolet and infrared – so that a wide range of hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon fires is detected effectively. Analysis of the flame flicker frequency improves false alarm rejection. It is designed for applications such as chemical storage, electric power transformers, fuel and charging stations, hydrogen storage and laboratories. The cone of vision is 90°, the range 25 m (0.1 m² n-heptane fire within 10 seconds). The IP65 housing of glass-reinforced polyester is UV resistant and self-extinguishing; a pressure compensation element prevents moisture build-up. The detector has automatic and manually initiated self-test, relay and 4–20 mA outputs.
