The MOXA NPort 5110 is a small serial device server that makes an RS-232 device – such as a card reader, control panel or payment terminal – network-ready in an instant. Real COM/TTY drivers (Windows, Linux, macOS) let existing COM-port software communicate with the device over a TCP/IP network, and the operation modes include TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, Pair Connection, Ethernet Modem and Reverse Telnet. It is configured by web browser, Telnet, serial console or Windows utility; SNMP MIB-II and e-mail alerts help monitor the units. Powered with 12–48 V DC through a power jack; metal housing with mounting ears. Walde supplies the NPort 5110 together with the Esser SEI2 interface (784850): the SEI2 connects Esser fire alarm panels (8000 series, IQ8Control, FlexES Control) through the optional RS-232 interface module (784870) to hazard management systems such as Winmag and FlexES Guard; the NPort 5110 carries this RS-232 link over the Ethernet network.
