DG-1 CO is a microprocessor-based carbon monoxide detector designed to be part of an alarm system. It is installed where carbon monoxide may occur: boiler rooms, near fireplaces, stoves and gas cookers, garages and the like. Because of the nature of carbon monoxide, the detector is mounted at about 1.5 m height. The electrochemical sensor and digital algorithm raise an alarm when a dangerous concentration lasts long enough: 50 ppm for 75 minutes, 100 ppm for 25 minutes or 300 ppm for 1 minute. Digital temperature compensation ensures correct operation over a wide temperature range and reduces false alarms. In alarm the NC relay opens, the red LED flashes and the built-in sounder beeps intermittently; the sounder can be disabled with a jumper. The detector supervises its supply voltage and signals trouble when it drops below 9 V. A tamper switch reports opening of the enclosure. The alarm output is connected to a 24-hour zone of the alarm system. The detector is for indoor use; average gas sensor life is 5 years.
