The spacer lifts the SIFER reader 10 mm from the surface so it can be mounted on metal without degrading the read range. The two mounting holes align with the reader mounting plate, and the large cable cut-out lets it be fitted to an installed reader without disconnecting the cable. For readers 994720 and 994720MF (from April 2021).
