MC115 is Southwest Microwave's patented sensor cable for INTREPID MicroPoint fence detection systems. It is the size of RG58 coaxial cable, but two sense wires float in two keyways of its core. When the fence is disturbed, these wires move relative to the centre and outer conductors, and the processor module locates the event using time domain reflectometry (TDR). The same cable also carries DC power and data, so no other cables are needed on the fence. The black high-density polyethylene jacket is UV resistant and designed for outdoor use. The cable is fixed on the protected side of the fence with cable ties about every 23 cm, each tie around a crossing of the fence wires. During installation the cable must not be twisted, over-bent or stretched, and water must be kept out of its ends. The reel holds 220 m of cable.
