The Remote Polling Module II (RPM II) is an INTREPID system controller for large and multi-site facilities. As pollmaster it polls all INTREPID Series II sensors connected to its RS422 ports – MicroPoint II, MicroNet II, MicroTrack II and MicroWave 330 – as well as I/O modules, and keeps the alarm information that a third-party control or monitoring system reads via the SDK over TCP/IP. The head-end therefore does not have to poll every device itself, which simplifies and speeds up interface development. Southwest Microwave's Graphic Alarm Manager (GAM) also works with the RPM II. Up to 16 devices can be connected: up to 8 on each RS422 port or all 16 on one; the system can also be set up as fault tolerant. With up to 8 devices on a port an alarm arrives within 1 second. As a backup to the head-end, up to 128 alarm zone records can be configured in the controller to trip relay outputs even if the head-end does not respond. The controller discovers connected devices automatically (Device Discovery) and is configured with the CST II software over USB or the network; UIST II also works through the same connection.
