The Xtralis OSID environmental housing protects the emitter against dust and water ingress in industrial and harsh environments (IP66, NEMA 4-4X). It is made of ABS with a glass window that attenuates the UV and IR beams only minimally. The housing is used only in systems with one emitter and one imager. Installation and servicing are easy: there are three pre-drilled fixing holes, and a heater can be fitted inside where condensation is expected. The emitter housing takes both battery powered and 24 V wired emitters. With the housing the detection range is 25–125 m for the OSI-10 and 5–28 m for the OSI-90.
