Xtralis OSID-R reflector beam smoke detector | 5–100 m | conventional | EN 54-12

The Xtralis OSI-RE is a reflective beam smoke detector for large open spaces such as warehouses and atriums. The infrared transmitter and the CMOS imaging receiver share one housing: the beam travels to the reflector and back, and the alarm decision is based on the weakening of the returned signal. The wide 12° field of view lets the receiver track the reflector continuously, so movement of the building or its support structure causes neither false alarms nor faults. Sensitivity is set automatically from the size of the reflector measured in the field of view, and automatic drift compensation adapts the thresholds. Alignment is quick: all optics sit in a swivelling eyeball (50° horizontal, 20° vertical) and arrows show which way to turn it; a laser alignment tool helps over long distances. The detector withstands strong light and sunlight – when saturated it reports a fault, not an alarm – and sudden obstructions in the beam do not cause an alarm. It connects directly to a conventional detection circuit, has alarm and fault relays, a built-in heater, a paintable cover and status LEDs visible from the front and below. A simulated smoke test can be run electronically from ground level (RTS151KEY). The reflector is included.
