The Xtralis VESDA VLI is a very early warning aspirating smoke detector for industrial sites and harsh environments up to 2000 m² – mines, manufacturing and processing plants, conveyors, tunnels, grain silos, power stations, warehouses, timber and paper plants, cold stores and livestock buildings. The air sample passes four sets of ultrasonic flow sensors and the Intelligent Filter, which splits it into a smaller unfiltered portion and a larger portion passing through HEPA media; the filter loading is monitored continuously, so sensitivity stays consistent over the whole service life. A lint trap, a sub-sampling probe (inertial separator) and a secondary filter remove further dust, and a clean air barrier protects the optics of the laser detection chamber – allowing absolute detection and a long chamber life without recalibration. The powerful aspirator supports up to 4 pipes with a total length of 360 m (single pipe up to 120 m). The IP66 enclosure protects against dust and strong water jets, so an external enclosure is usually not needed. Five relays (Fire, Fault and 3 configurable), AutoLearn, Clean Air Zero and a USB port; supported by ASPIRE, VSC and VSM4 software. The VLI-880 is the version without VESDAnet card.
